Gorakhpur Link Expressway

Gorakhpur Link Expressway, is an under construction 91.35 kilometres (56.76 mi) expressway in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It will connect Gorakhpur with Purvanchal Expressway at Azamgarh.[1]

Highway system

The expressway will require 1,073 hectares (2,650 acres) of land and will cost 5,876 crore to build.[2][3]

Status updates

  • Aug 2019: 45.26% of needed land acquired.
  • Oct 2019: More than half the required land has been acquired for the project. Expressway is divided into two packages, the state has selected the lowest bidders Apco Infratech and Dilip Buildcon to build it.[4]
  • Nov 2019: Dilip Buildcom receives Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for package-2 of 43 km length. The project is to be completed in 36 months.[5][6]
  • Mar 2020: 84.42% of needed land acquired.[7]
  • Apr 2020: Road construction ongoing.[8]
  • Jun 2020: Road construction for package-2 started.[9]
