Rihard Blagaj

Rihard Ursini Blagay (17 August 1786--14 March 1858) was a Slovene botanist and patron of the arts.

He organized numerous cultural gatherings of Slovene enlighteners in the Polhov Gradec manor, where he married Baroness Antonija Polhograjska in 1808. As one of the first mayors of the Ljubljana district, he operated in Slovenia. He also collected Slovene plant species for the naturalist Heinrich Freyer.[1]
