Tipe-X

Tipe-X is a Ska band formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1995. The group comprises vocalist Tresno Riadi, bassist Micky, guitarist Yoss, drummer Arie Hardjo, guitarist Billy, trombone Anto, and recognized as the pioneer in Indonesia SKA Music which then has become an icon of the nation's SKA Music genre. They are also recognized as the best selling Indonesian SKA musician to date. All their album release always received positive response from many music critics and their fans with their well-known hit singles, such as "Genit", "Angan", "Song From Distance", " Salam Rindu", "Sakit Hati", "Selamat Jalan", "Kamu Ngga Sendirian" and "Mawar Hitam".

During the reign of Boyband era in late early 2010's in Indonesia, Tipe-X released their single "Boyband" which stating that they are boys in a band instead of mocking boy band or girl band. Not only the single was hilarious but the album SEVEN also brought back Tipe-X to mainstream music industry in Indonesia thanks to their producer and label owner Benjamin Renhat.

Early career

Tipe-X was formed in September 1995, initially the group used the name Headmaster as the name of the band, but they eventually chose the name Tipe-X because it was to make it easier for people to remember. This group consists of Tresno (vocal), Micky (bass), Yoss (guitar), Billy (guitar), Arie (drum) and Anto (trombone). At first they played songs from outside groups such as Voodoo Glow Skull, Operation Ivy & Mighty-Mighty Bosstone, but eventually they changed to bring their own songs.

Music festivals to underground stages in Jakarta & surrounding areas they tasted, They also had become one of the favorite champions of the Alternative Music Festival in Menteng in 1995. They finally made a few song demos, then the Tipe-X took the initiative to send a demo song "Frustasi" to the Ekspresi Indosiar event and aired. They also sent a demo of the song "Bebas Pusing" to the IndieLapan radio program Prambors and ranked fifth. after that stage offers increases.

First Album

Ska Phobia released in 1999 with the single "Genit" and "Angan" with the Pops label led by Dodo Abdullah. In this album there are 10 song with 3 songs in English. Sold more than 380,000 copies and this album was awarded 2 platinum.

Second Album

Mereka Tak Pernah Mengerti released in 2001 they released 10 songs. With the single "Salam Rindu" whose video clip was made by Dimas Djayadiningrat from the Millennium production house. In addition to "Salam Rindu", there are also singles "Sakit Hati" and "Selamat Jalan" whose video clips were made by Eugene Panji. This album was awarded Triple Platinum and sold more than 500,000 copies. After releasing his second album, Hendro (drum) decided to leave from Type-X since 2002.

Third album

Super Surprise is the third Tipe-X album released in 2003 with the singles "Karena Cemburu", "Gombal" and "Pacar Yang Baik". Still getting a positive response by fans of Tipe-X, namely X-Friends. This time the drum position was replaced by Aditya Pratama alias Adi (now the drummer for ADA Band), who is a former drummer for the rock band Teaser. Adi then occupied the drum position left by Hendro since 2002. Sold more than 150,000 copies and was awarded 1 platinum.

Fourth Album

Discography Hitam Putih is the fourth Tipe-X album released in 2005. The launch of this album is also the 10th Tipe-X anniversary. The album which is still produced by Pops Musik presents 10 songs that rely on the song "Kamu Ngga' Sendirian " as the first single and "Mawar Hitam" as the second single. Sold more than 120,000 copies.

The Best

The Best album "A Journey" they released in 2007. Famous songs in the 90s, such as "Sakit Hati", "Genit", "Salam Rindu" and "Mawar became the mainstay. The rest, new concoctions including "Kamu Penipu" created by Tresno became the album's first single. After releasing the best album "A Journey", Adi (drum) chose to leave and join the ADA Band. Sixth Album

Seventh Album

After a long hiatus from the entertainment world, Tipe-X is back by releasing their new album. With the flagship song "Boyband" in the album Seven (2012), Type-X presents their latest music. With a combination of various types of music. In this seventh album, Tipe-X found Adi's replacement, Arie Hardjo who is a former rock band drummer, U'Camp. Arie joined Tipe-X after several appearances on tour and concert with Tipe-X as an additional drummer since 2008. Also on this album, Andi Toha (saxophone) chose to withdraw from this Jakarta-based ska band.
