Viktor Zharkov

Viktor Ivanovich Zharkov (Russian Виктор Иванович Жарков) (3 August 1927 in Moscow, Soviet Union - 8 October 1989) was a Soviet footballer as forward, manager and international football referee.[1]

Player career

Viktor Zharkov played as forward for some Soviet football clubs such as FC Torpedo Moscow, FC Lokomotiv Moscow,[2] VVS Moscow in Soviet Top League totally nine matches.[3]

Managerial career

Viktor Zharkov began to work as manager in 1957 where his player career end in Avangard (Sormova). He also managed FC Kolomna, FC Znamya Truda Orekhovo-Zuyevo and North Vietnam team (youth) in 1962–63.

Referee career

After managerial career he became referee. Zharkov officiated two international matches in 1977, which one of them was 1978 World Cup qualifying match played between Austria-Turkey (1:0) and other was friendly.[4]

In club football he refereed some UEFA competition matches such as UEFA Cup (2) and Cup Winners Cup (1). He attributed 41 Soviet Top League matches in 1972–77.
